Employee Personal Page
An Employee Personal Page can come in any combination of 6 flavors, depending on the purpose:
1) A webpage the general public can reach from the web, without a login.
2) A webpage the general public can reach from the web, with a login.
3) An intranet page that can be reached by other employess, with a login
4) A restricted intranet page can be reached by the employee or HR, with login.
5) A restricted intranet page that can only be reached by certain members of your HR Team that are members of a Role with sufficient privileges, with a login.
6) A page that is by its very nature, restricted to the highest level of Access.  May be the HR Admin or VP of HR and allows deleting the employee from the master 'Employee Personal Page' file, deleting passwords and other privileges.

Your Management or Marketing team may decide that a 'human face' can be positive for Public relations.
Could be used for prospective or existing customers as part of a customer service or marketing strategy.
Enabling current employees access to basic information about other employees. Helpful with multiple locations.
A page the employee can (perhaps, must) update to assist HR as part of HR self service.
Confidential information for certain HR team members eyes only, allowing edit and other notes not available to the employee.Full privileges for all employee data.

Themes
A Theme is a 'base xml page', with this site being an example of using Themes.  If you look closely, you will see that there are 4 basic categories of pages:- A 'general theme' that is used for the Home page, Advertising, Sitemap & a few others.  The links are consistent for the 'header' and the 'footer'.  Each individual page has its own content.- An Employee Benefit Statements Theme, with links that are appropriate for that subject.- An Employee Communications Theme.  You are now on that Theme.- A Younicycle Theme.
Each of these Themes serves a different purpose - but equally important is that we do NOT need to recreate a new set of images and links for each new page.  One theme can cover 1 'topic' and hundreds of pages.
Themes & Employee Personal Pages
We would use the same idea for Employee Personal Pages, with a different Theme for each of the first 5 listed above (# 6 should not need a Theme).  Each theme would be different and styles according to your wishes.  In addition, Themes 2, 3, 4, 5 would load content dynamically, based on the User login and requested page.
Themes & Theme Content
We prefer working from the 'bottom up' for content, with the HR Team Page (# 5 above), being the 1st page we create.  Since this page will be for HR Eyes only, we place every applicable data field for the employee on the Application.
* Note:  This does NOT mean Edit, Update or Delete of data items will necessarily be allowed.  That will depend on the Role and assigned privileges of the particular HR Team member.  So while there is a 'common, Theme appearanace', it does NOT mean that all Team members can perform identical work.  Thus, it is the combination of Themes, Pages, Roles, Privileges & dynamic content that determines the final result.

Each theme (usually) becomes progressively more restrictive, containing less content and fewer privileges, so that #1 (webpage for the general public) will NOT contain (example) an employees Home Address, let alone info such as beneficiaries, ee_id - or the ability to Edit.

Employee Personal Pages & Privileges + Access
Employee personal pages can contain any type of content - but that is the challenge.  We work with you to ensure that each type of Employee Personal Page & theme contains the correct type of content and the correct privileges.  This can all be created and maintained from within Younicycle.
